FIRING

MecTiles Italia offers a broad range of new or regenerated single-channel or twin-channel roller kilns, some of which are equipped with devices for heat recovery, so as to lower the costs and the energy consumption. The tiles are fired in continuous kilns on rollers, in which high temperatures are reached (from 700°C to over 1400°C).
The tiles inside the kiln are first heated to the maximum firing temperature and then, after a pre-defined time at this temperature, they are gradually cooled. The chemical and physical reactions that take place in this firing process make the tile structure mechanically resistant.
